Before the Digital SAT on November 7, 2026, you need to do three things. Install Bluebook and take a practice test. Complete exam setup and get your admission ticket, which is available starting November 2, 2026. Then pack a charged device, a physical photo ID and pencils or pens.

College Board can change its dates and rules. This post reflects what it had published as of October 23, 2026, so check the College Board pages linked here before test day.

The timeline College Board recommends

College Board's SAT Weekend guide gives three checkpoints.

  1. At least 30 days before: install Bluebook and practice

Install the Bluebook app, take a practice test and start getting your device ready. For November 7, that checkpoint was October 8. If you have not installed Bluebook yet, there is still time. Do it today.

  2. From 5 days before: complete exam setup and get your ticket

Sign in to Bluebook with your College Board account, complete exam setup and get your admission ticket. For November 7, that window opens November 2, 2026.

  3. Morning of the test: final device check

On test day morning, complete a final check that your device works and Bluebook opens.

Complete exam setup as soon as it opens on November 2, not the night before. If something goes wrong with your device or account, you want days to fix it, not hours.

What to bring

College Board lists these as required:

  • A fully charged testing device with Bluebook installed and exam setup completed
  • Your admission ticket from Bluebook. A printed ticket is preferred
  • An acceptable photo ID. It must be a physical document, and digital IDs are not accepted
  • Pencils or pens for scratch work
  • Your College Board username and password
  • An acceptable calculator for the Math section

Bluebook includes a built-in calculator that you can switch between scientific and graphing modes, so you can use that or bring your own.

Optional items include a charging cable or portable charger, a watch without an audible alarm, a bag, a drink or snacks for your break, and a backup testing device.

If you test with accommodations, check your admission ticket and College Board's instructions for any changes to this list.

What to do this week

  1. This week: Open Bluebook on the device you will use and fix any update or sign-in problem.
  2. This week: Take a full-length practice test in Bluebook on that device. Our free diagnostic can also show you which sections to focus on.
  3. This week: Review your mistakes by question type, not just your score. What is the Digital SAT? explains the sections and question types, so you can sort your mistakes.
  4. From November 2: Complete exam setup and get your ticket. Print it if you can.
  5. The night before: Charge the device, pack your bag and set out your ID.

Registration deadlines

The regular registration deadline for the November 7 SAT is October 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. After that, late registration is available for an additional fee through October 27, 2026, which is also the deadline for changes and regular cancellation. Confirm the dates and fees on the College Board dates and deadlines page.
